the missing plot (29/9/24)

time is falling apart
coming to pieces
leaving a mess in its wake,
time has lost the plot
refusing to stop
and take time to take stock,
time is out to lunch
where lunch becomes dinner
and supper turns into breakfast,
time is folding in
on itself and everyone else
wringing its hands on the way,
time is sucking
the air from the room
leaving an absence resigned,
time is passing the buck
shedding its skin
the enemy hidden within,
time is trickling
down every drain
always one step of the blame,
time is listless
taken for granted
under strain and overfed,
time, with hindsight
is too late to stop
developing into a clot,
time is on time
to suit itself
but rarely for anyone else.
