mine, mine, mine! 20th October 2015

I shouldn't be so surprised at the way people treat other animals.... I mean, look how they treat other people...... there's a reason why human rights legislation exists, because commonsense isn't that common after all...... refugees are humans too, should it've slipped your ken....... it's not that we treat them like animals, it's usually worse, that's when we don't simply ignore them............ go away, this is mine... mine, mine, mine!........ and yet in the same breath we sell off industry and jobs to foreign regimes and businesses, even those with massively questionable human rights issues and abuses.......... *does a double-take*........... we're really good at vilification, and being ostriches.... talking of other animals....... the badger, pretty much public enemy number 1 here (actually, probably just below refugees)...... and all because of a presumed (still unproven) allegation that they alone cause TB in cattle....... the grey squirrel, simply because it isn't red (and it's a foreigner!)......... the ruddy duck, because it's too horny for its own good......... even otters... why?.. because they eat fish, our fish!...... apparently all fish are solely for our own consumption....... cormorants and goosanders the same....... foxes, because we do love a good 'life-enhancing' tally-ho blood-sport and we are a one for our 'traditions'........ and what could be better than watching a pack of hounds tear apart a single terrified fox......... even, yes, hares... why?.... we love shooting at things that run...... crows as well, because they are black, dare I say...... well, it seems hardly anyone can say for sure why kills crows except habit......... gulls!...... well, goddammit! they stole my ice cream!.......... moles.... oh yes even the humble mole.... if they'd only keep their head down (literally) and not make molehills out of lawns....... not to mention all the animals that once were and now are not...... bears, mink, wolves, beavers...................
