fluid on a fretboard, 22nd October 2015

3 hours!...... yes, 3 hours!.... he played for 3 hours!.... the 'he' being steve hackett, musician, extraordinary guitarist, the once upon a time member of the prog-rock band genesis and long time solo performer.... simply brilliant gig last night in llandudno....... like fluid on a fretboard as in 3 hours (yes 3 hours!) he did a first set of his own solo stuff from his first ever album back in the late seventies and a second set of, yes, genesis material!......... accompanied by equally-extraordinary musicians and.... and..... and light show to make you eyes pop out and pop back in and, if eyes could gasp, then gasp in awe....... if I had time again I'd become a creative lighting designer..... what can be done with simply lights is mindblowing........ anyway, the gig.......... just when I thought at the end of one song he couldn't top that, he did!..... a brilliant way to end a stressful day.......... sometimes you reach the end of some long gigs exhausted and ready for it to end, but last night, when it ended, even after 3 hours I was thinking, where's the rest?......... me thinks he did us justice though, well beyond expectations...... I knew it's be good but not as awesome as it was..... ok, I'm going on a bit now, and as you weren't there and didn't see/ hear it then it's all probably quite tiresome...... anyway, back home later so normal service will be (p)resumed by tomorrow (if you're unlucky!)........... must go now as I feel the need for coffee.... then more coffee.... then more coffee... then probably some more........
