skating away on thin rust, 4th November 2013

clackety-clack, clunkity-clunk, squeakity-squeak...... I love the sound of trains....... aren't train brilliaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant!.......... took the train back today after the dentist with much to ponder, and trains are great places to ponder....... I hope we never stop having them.......... am always impressed with just how big they are, when you stand next to one you really get the true perspective....... true marvels of engineering and not just that but also they look good!..... not just the trains but the whole infrastructure....... oh I could wax lyrical for hours about trains.... the sound, smell, the atmosphere they invoke, perfect for photographs!...... the stations filled with people who come and then are gone, swallowed by these chunky metal beasties who drag them into their darkened tunnel lairs...... although environmentally unfriendly, the diesel ones are the best, grumbling and growling and oozing their petroleum perfume.......... the world from a train always looks different from anything else, rattling past stories that you might never know but glimpse for a moment......... clackety-clack, clunkity-clunk, squeakity-squeak...... skating away on the thin rust of a railway line.......
