wall to wall wool, 25th April 2016

and now it's the mallards turn as the male ducks parallel paddle across the surface of the pond giving each other the evil eye as hormones and the time of year makes them even more bolshie than usual.... and here comes a moorhen to throw in their pennies worth....... making a beeline, or moorhen line, for the gathered duckles of ducks where they'd strayed a tad close to its nest....... it turns and catapults itself across the pond in angry flappings scattering the said mallards in a feathered flurry.... the male goose continues to stalk, or (at a safe distance) warily follow the swan.... until the swan decides again enough's enough and chases the goose, also in a politely restrained fashion..... oh, and as promised from yesterdays blog.... wool..... an explanation of my 'woolly' reference...... inspired by wall to wall wool... and wool to wool walls to be found cramming three huge agricultural sheds a the Royal Welsh Show Ground in mid Wales where I've been this weekend.... at...... Wonderwool!...... a huge national wool show.... a show of wool, just wool and pretty much just wool... well, fibres actually but predominantly wool..... having offered to take friends to it as their 'taxi' I got a free weekend away and entry to it... so, yay me!........ the pond action is happening at the b&b I'm staying at...... apart from taking photos, staring at sheep and fingering wool my major tasks were to find the best coffee stalls and artisan foods.. which I did.... I have a nose for this kinda stuff...... no day such as these are complete without suitable and quality sustenance..... and on-the-spot stone-oven baked pizzas!..... so there you go, enough wool to make even a woolly mammoth envious, this is where I've been for the past few days....
